It can grow in sun or semi-shade; This is a self-seeding variety and then plants can tolerate warm conditions, if the soil is healthy and well mulched.

The plants are ready for harvest in about 45 days. Harvest only the leaves allowing for regrowth — in this way plants can be used for maximum yield over a period of 3-4 months.
