Beans Lattar Seeds
OPEN POLLINATED, UNTREATED SEEDS
Phaseolus vulgaris
Latter Beans comes to us from one of our farmer partners in Bihar, grown for generations without a formal varietal name but well known locally for its vigour and heavy, reliable pod set. It's a profuse producer, throwing out pods steadily once established, and rewards a gardener who keeps picking.
Latter prefers cooler weather, making it best suited to the winter growing window across most of India - sow after the peak heat has broken (post monsoons) and the nights start cooling down.
Given its vigorous growth, plants generally do better with some support - a stake, trellis or fence line - to climb on and keep the pods clean and easy to pick.
