Swiss Chard Rainbow Seeds - OG
ORGANIC AND OPEN POLLINATED SEEDS
(Beta vulgaris subsp. cicla)
Chard is actually the same species as beetroot, but is grown for leaves rather than roots. It adapts surprisingly well to the warmer and more humid conditions in India and continues to be a robust performer.
This heirloom variety is a collection of beautifully coloured chard with brilliant pink, yellow, orange, red and white stems with green leaves. Mild tasting leaves and can be used raw in salads and the colourful stems are also cooked as a vegetable in their own right.
Chard likes full sun, though it is best shaded form the harsh rays of the afternoon sun.
60-65 days to harvest. Extremely ornamental and pretty in a kitchen garden and grows in containers as well.
