Long Purple is a brinjal/aubergine with deep, glossy and elongated fruit (Also known as or baingan/begun/vaingi). Growing between 8"-10"  long, it is suited for growing through the year, especially in warmer climates. It is an early variety that produces several fruit quickly. Grows best in full sun conditions. Harvest when fruits are still shiney; dull fruit indicates over-ripeness. Picking fruit regularly, encourages more fruit. 

Prefers rich, well draining soil. 

Can also be potted in containers of 12"-14" size
