(Lacinato kale)

This is a dinosaur kale variety with very distinct, textured leaves that also adapts well to warm climates. Originating from the Tuscany region of Italy (in the mid-1800s), it has a long tradition of use in local cuisine and is used in soups, salads and stir fries and can also be used to make excellent kale chips.

Now commonly considered a "superfood", kale is a great choice for both taste and nutrition. Most importantly is a vigorous producer when planted in gardens or pots and its leaves can be harvested repeatedly over several months.
