(Lactuca sativa)

A really old heirloom variety of lettuce from France (goes as far back as the mid 1800s) that is as tasty as it looks pretty. Dainty green rosettes surrounded by reddish, bronze leaves makes this butterhead/bibb lettuce variety, with crisp and juicy leaves, a great choice for any salad.

Takes between 55-65 days for maturity. This is a cut-and-come-again kind of salad leaf.(i.e., just cut away the leaves you need, and the plant will grow back and produce more leaves)

Better when shaded from the strong afternoon sun. Like most other lettuces its great for growing in containers as shallow as 6" deep.
