Radish Cherry Belle Seeds
UNTREATED AND OPEN POLLINATED SEEDS
Raphanus sativus
Grows best in Winter
Family: Brassicaceae (Mustard & Cabbage)
Cherry Belle is a fast growing variety (produces in about 35-40 days) which produces scarlet, round, smooth radishes with crisp white flesh. This low growing radish (just 4-5 inches tall) produces shorter leaves than long white varieties. It is simple to grow in cool weather and prefers full sunlight and loose rich soil with consistent availability of moisture. Should be harvested at about 1” diameter and can be sliced and eaten raw in a salad because of their flavour and crunchy texture.
Direct sow the seeds into the soil in rows, spaced about 4 inches apart because crowding the plants too close can stunt their growth and affect quality. Flea beetles and aphids can pose problems, especially when the weather is on the warmer side.
