Parsley Dark Italian Flat Seeds
ORGANIC AND OPEN POLLINATED SEEDS
Petroselinum crispum
Dark Green Italian Flat Leaf Parsley is a hardy biennial (live for 2 years), often grown as an annual, and one of the most beloved culinary herbs worldwide. Unlike curly parsley, this flat-leaf variety has a stronger aroma and richer flavour, making it an essential ingredient in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Brazilian, and American cuisines. Its fresh, peppery taste pairs beautifully with fish, soups, salads, sauces, and even as a garnish for tacos and roasts.
A versatile herb with over 2,000 years of history, Italian parsley thrives in moist, well-drained soil and full sun, and grows best in mild climates. In temperate regions, it follows its natural biennial cycle: leafy growth in year one, flowering and seeding in year two. But in India’s warm, tropical conditions, the absence of strong winter cold means the plant often keeps producing lush green leaves year after year. In fact, we grew it for 3 years straight by giving it the right care!
For best results in Indian climates, grow in pots or raised beds with good drainage to prevent monsoon root rot; provide partial shade in summer to reduce heat stress and avoid premature bolting and harvest regularly, as cutting off flowering stalks extends its leafy phase.
It takes 2-4 weeks to germinate, so be patient!
Italian parsley is not just an herb—it’s a long-lasting, high-yield addition to any kitchen garden.
